Since it was founded in 1992 in an area of 18.650 m2, only a ten-minute drive from the heart of the city, Bayındır Hospital Söğütözü has a capacity of 169-bed, treatment services, outpatient clinic, emergency service, 6 operating rooms equipped with a filtered ventilation system to lower the risk of infection, are used for all types of surgery, 35-bed intensive care unit is equipped with the most modern life-support systems available, diagnostic and medical imaging center and medical laboratory units to comfort patients and meet all kinds of their medical needs. It employs 99 physicians and surgeons and nearly 600 additional staff.

Bayındır Hospital Söğütözü earned JCI (Joint Commission International) accreditation with Bayındır Hospital Kavaklıdere at the same time in 2006 and in the next surveys both of the hospitals passed their surveying period successfully on October, 2009 and 2012.

One of Bayındır Hospital Söğütözü’s premier centers is its Department of Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery. The array of non-invasive tests offered include color Doppler echocardiography, ECG and exercise ECG, Holter monitoring, and 24-hour blood pressure monitoring; invasive procedures include coronary angiography and angioplasty (balloon stent atherectomy), left/right heart catheterization, and mitral and pulmonary valvuloplasty. The department’s open-heart surgical procedures include aneurysm repair, coronary bypass surgery, correction of congenital defects, and valve replacement and repair. Closed-heart procedures are also conducted, including constricted mitral valve commissurotomy, pericardiectomy, and shunt operations.

Vascular surgery is performed to treat carotid artery defects, disorders of the large abdominal and thoracic vessels, and peripheral vascular disease.

Bayındır Hospital Söğütözü is also well known for its departments of general surgery, head and neck surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, and orthopedics and traumatology. Other frequently performed procedures include gastrointestinal endoscopy, interventional radiology (peripheral angiography and vascular and nonvascular procedures), and pediatric allergy testing.

Bayındır Hospital Söğütözü is the first and only private hospital in Turkey to achieve to open a Bone Marrow Transplantation Unit.

Accreditations

Bayındır Hospital Söğütözü and Bayındır Hospital Kavaklıdere have been accredited by Joint Commission International (JCI). Our hospitals have been visited by JCI authorities for certificate survey on July 10-14, 2006 and both our hospitals (Bayındır Hospital Söğütözü and Kavaklıdere) passed a successful survey period and obtained their accreditation certificates.

Bayındır Hospital Söğütözü and Kavaklıdere have chosen to provide services with JCI Accreditation Standards to sustain their qualified and proof-dependant health service and to improve that service even further, because JCI philosophy and standards suit our organization service comprehension and fit our organization mission.

At present Joint Commission International (JCI) is the most well-known and developed independent accreditation organization in health area. Therefore when we speak of an accreditation in health, for an organization providing health services it means the certification of: improving the patient quality, decreasing the risks by maintaining a safe environment for both patients and employees and to fulfill all necessities for a continues improvement in terms of the standards set by Joint Commission International (JCI).

Bayındır Hospital’s start date for accreditation process according to JCI criteria is April 25, 2005. Both Bayındır Söğütözü and Kavaklıdere Hospitals have been accredited by JCI on July, 14, 2006.

This success has been ensured by 900 Bayındır employees with full belief and high effort in a short period of 14 months. There is no other organization preparing all departments according to JCI standards and getting accreditation certificate for 2 hospitals at the same time in such a short period.

The principal of this success lies in the patient-oriented, proof-dependant and every new day more qualified service comprehension, which has been adopted by all Bayındır employees.

Certainly it is important to certificate the quality service comprehension in health as it is in all other areas. But what more important is to completely fulfill the standards required by this certificate on all implementations and to improve the service to more qualified levels.
